A Spring Day to Remember
The tradition of Easter Egg Hunts goes back hundreds of years in Europe. As the eggs symbolize life, rebirth, and spring, in Japan they are the perfect match for the cherry blossoms and hanami events.

Our school created the International Hanami and Easter Egg Hunt event nearly 20 years ago, a chance for our community to enjoy spring in a new way, blending Japanese with Western traditions and chances to use English in fun ways.

About 50 people participated this year on a beautiful spring day. The weather was mild and warm, and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
With many students recently joining the school, it was a chance to make new friends and meet others with the same goals of learning English.

And, several members of our community were interviewed and featured on the NHK evening news!
It was also a chance for alumni to visit with teachers and renew connections.
The next opportunity will be the Rainbow Bridges 20th Anniversary Party this summer! Please mark your calendars for the weekend of July 12 and 13. David and other former teachers and staff members will be there for the big reunion and celebration!
